“Vitality Roundtable” now leads us to “Conversations”

Thanks to all who took the time to come to our “Vitality Roundtable” on Sunday evening. Sixty-two of us were able to review the PULSE report, and begin to process what was offered as “Observable Strengths,” “Growth Areas” and “Next Steps and Recommendations.” This is a next big step for us as we enter into a discernment process and identify 3-4 key focus areas for us to address prayerfully, strategically and joyfully. The next step is “Conversations” – a longer time to interact, share and even dream a little with members of the Vitality Team.  The first three have been scheduled. Be sure to pick a time and day that works for you. A few more will be scheduled soon:

Sunday, October 23: 9 am in the Library; Sunday, November 6 & 13: noon in the Library (please bring a sack lunch).

MONTH OF PRAYER & FASTING

For four weeks, from Sunday, October 23rd through Sunday, November 20, we will be seeking God together. As an essential part of our Vitality discernment process, we will focus some time on fasting, confessing, repenting, praying and crying out to God – but especially: listening. Here’s what’s planned:

Sundays: Each of the first four Sundays we will have a time of focused prayer for our church

Mondays: Each of the four Mondays, you are encouraged to fast for all or part of the day and take time to pray for our church. (guidlines for fasting to be provided.)

Wednesdays: Each of the four Wednesdays, the Prayer Room* will be open from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. You will be able to sign up for 30 minute time periods, or simply drop in before, after or during the Wednesday night programming.

The final weekend: We will be encouraged to fast all or part of Saturday, November 19, and we will break the fast together with Communion in a “Service of Consecration to the Lord’s Future” on Sunday, November 20. A “Pot-luck and Pie” celebration will follow worship!

*The Prayer Room will be located in the last room on the left, where the Confirmation Class meets on Sunday mornings.
