Scot has been a pastor for over 30 years, and he still loves what he does! After growing up in California, attending Wheaton College in Illinois, he served Evangelical Covenant churches in Colorado, Kansas, Massachusetts and Arizona. After serving for seventeen years in Tucson, Scot and his wife, Meagan, moved to Naperville in November of 2009. And although he loved that desert setting, he finds much to love about being back in the Chicago area.
Scot is a graduate of Wheaton College, Denver Seminary and North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago. His wife, Meagan has always been a faithful ministry partner. After years of working as a writer, editor and marketing account manager, she currently serves as the Executive Minister of Women Ministries for the Evangelical Covenant Church. She still finds time to occasionally play drums in Naperville Covenant Church’s worship band.
Scot’s four children all graduated from high school in Tucson, but came to college in Chicago: Grady and Cooper to North Park University, Kelly (and husband Greg Johnston) to Wheaton College and Lucas to NIU. All but Grady still live in the Chicago area. Scot and Meagan love having them nearby!
Scot loves being outside. He is passionate about running. He’s currently training for his third Chicago marathon. He and Meagan love working in their yard, hanging out with their two dogs, listening to jazz and drinking black coffee with their kids. Someday he’s going to be a jazz pianist.
