Dru McLelandDirector of Worship Ministries
Dru has been serving in music ministry since she was 12 and has been at Naperville Covenant since November, 2000.
Dru began her relationship with God through faith in Jesus when she was 4. She gained a more complete understanding of the work of the Holy Spirit when she was 16 at youth camp. As an adult she has come to live in deep gratitude for God’s grace after studying Ephesians, her favorite book of the Bible.
Dru’s husband, Paul, of 24 years is the love of her life. They met at Greenville College while traveling on Cornerstone and in the Concert Choir. Paul is a PE teacher and Head Boys’ Cross Country and Track Coach at West Chicago Community High School. Their daughter, Katie, is a student at Biola University.
Dru considers herself blessed to minister with the wonderful people at NECC. Our music and worship ministry teams seek to know God through worship, love God in response to His love for us, and serve Him out of gratitude for His mercy and grace.
Some other things you might want to know about Dru: She was born in Rwanda, Africa where her parents were missionaries with the Free Methodist Church. She graduated with degrees in music from Central Christian College in McPherson, KS, Greenville College in Greenville, IL and The Wichita State University in Wichita, KS.
Her favorite things include hearing God speak, people discovering that God loves them no matter what, time with friends, music of all sorts, making music with friends, chocolate anything, movies with happy endings, morning walks, blue skies, yellow, tea with cream and sugar, laughing and Ephesians 5:19 – 20.
