Dru McLeland

Director of Music Ministries

Dru began serving in music ministry when she was 12 and has been at Naperville Covenant since November 2000.  Top three things you should know about her:

She loves God, she loves her family, and she loves this church.

Dru began her relationship with God through faith in Jesus when she was 4.  She gained a more complete understanding of the filling of the Holy Spirit when she was 16 at a youth camp in Estes Park, CO.  As an adult she has come to live in deep gratitude for God’s grace after studying Ephesians, her favorite book of the Bible.

She has been married to the love of her life for 24 years.  Paul and Dru met at Greenville College.  Paul is a PE teacher and Head Boys’ Cross Country and Track Coach at West Chicago Community High School.    Their daughter, Katie, is a Biochem major at Biola University in Los Angeles.

The life Dru loves is “making music with her friends” in worship.   “Her friends” include the Worship Band, Choir, Bell Choir, Vocal Ensemble and any one else  who will sing or play music with her.   She considers herself blessed beyond measure to minister with the wonderful people at NECC.  Our music and worship ministry teams seek to know God through worship, love God in response to His love for us, and serve Him out of gratitude for His mercy and grace.

Some other things you might want to know about Dru.

She was born in Rwanda, Africa – her parents were missionaries with the Free Methodist Church.

She graduated with degrees in music from Central Christian College in McPherson, KS, Greenville College in Greenville, IL and The Wichita State University in Wichita, KS.

She has way too many favorite songs, so don’t ask her for her favorite song unless you have lots of time.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
- Mathew 22:37-40
